JR

This is JR. He's been in the family since Tarren was born. We had a heated argument last night on how old he is. I say he's 11, cuz he was a year old when Tarren was born. But he's at least 10. I'm glad mom brought him back home. This is where he belongs. He hated Arizona, you can see it in his face. JR hadn't seen grass in 3 years and as soon as he got here, he rolled and dug in my sister's yard. Poor thing. The vet asked if he was part bear. He's huge! The first words out of Caiti Mae's mouth was "Ohh... I like this puppy." Sadly I'm not sure how much longer he has. It's hard for him to get around. He's on a special diet and thyroid meds, but who knows. He's such a good dog. It's gonna kill me when he goes, but he's home now. That's all that matters.

Football is over... for this year

Today we went to Moscow to watch Coop play in the championship of Clearwater Football. Before the game they were 6-0, and it didn't matter if they lost the game, they were first place. They had a banner made with all the coaches and players names on them. They all were pretty proud of it.

Good thing Grama moved home in time to watch the last game. The kids are all jacked that she's back and for good. Before the game the team had a tail gate party. I felt kind of naive and stupid I guess. I went up to get some "orange juice" for Caitrin. One gentle man hurried over to me before I gave it to her and asked me if I realized that was "Adult OJ"? Yea, no...
I think it would have made her sleep a little longer then 5 min.

THEY WON!!! WENT 7-0 GO LC TIGERS!!!

Caitrin did pretty good, though being there for 5 hours is rough on a 2 year old. At one point she fell asleep on the bleachers for all of 5 minutes, then was up and back at it, running all over the stands.

Punkins

Like I stated in my previous post, I went to the punkin patch this weekend. I conveniently forgot the memory card in my camera, so I couldn't get pix of the kids picking out there punkins. Can you believe that she's almost 10. Only a couple more days.

He's a total poser. To bad he won't be able to gut his own punkin, can't stomach it.
The sun was in her poor eyes, but she had to have that baby punkin.

On Saturday the 25th, we are going to a punkin carving party at a co-workers house. I'm actually really excited to go. I'm going to have gut my punkin before I go. It's gonna take a while, plus I have to find a knife big enough to cut through how thick it is.

Football can take a lot out of you.

It was a rough day for Caiti Mae. Watching football takes a lot out of her. She jumps up and down, runs and shouts. Not that she knows who she's rooting for. But she knows the Seahawks and she cheers them on, (even though they aren't proving to be any good this year). She was eating a small bowl of dry cereal and trying to watch the Packers kick Seattle's rear. I can't blame her, the game was a disappointment. Dad ended up removing the bowl so she wouldn't hurt herself. I wish I could sleep like that. Oh... to be young again.

I suppose I should wake her up, I do have to work tomorrow and it's 5 o'clock. I'm not going to lie, it's peaceful with her asleep. I can get a few extra things done without her dragging out her babies and barbies.

I DID IT!

I BROKE LAST YEAR'S RECORD!!!Every year I head to the local fruit store with the kids to pick their pumpkins. I have a running bet with myself to see if I can pick the biggest pumpkin. Two years ago, I got a 40 pounder, last year, I beat it by 2lbs. I thought I'd have a hard time to beat that. But as I walked into the pumpkin patch, there she was.... Just sitting there calling my name. "Pick me, take my to your loving home" So I did. I plucked her. I held my breath when I sat her on the scales. I needed to beat 42lbs. I DID! 52 whopping pounds. I now think that next year I will have a bigger problem, but until then.

Place Ministries

Today I attended a class for the church called Place Ministries. It's a course where you take a series of tests to see your personalities and your Gifts that God has given you. To help you better serve the Lord in what he wants you to do, your purpose in life. I was somewhat surprised to find out what I was. My main gift was Mercy, I have empathy and compassion and want to help people who are beaten and broken. Which isn't to far from the truth for those of you who know me, but my other gifts were administration, which means I understand the resources and goals to accomplish goals and/or plans. Service, the ability to support ministries to effectively accomplish their goal, and the gift of Giving, to give possessions and/or finances to do God's work with a cheerful and willing spirit. I wasn't surprised that I like to help, and give, but the mercy part I'm not sure about, but if that's what the good Lord has planned for me, then I open my arms.

As for my personalities, I wasn't surprised. I know that I'm an introvert. I don't like to be the life of the party and I surely don't work the room. I find a few that I know and then I head out. I'm energized by my solitude and my family. I'm intuitive, I think about the consequences, the pros and cons before I actually make the decision. A feeler, (no, I don't like to be touched), I have empathy, if something is wrong, I get a little vibe that tells me so, and I'm a judge, I like structure and order and likes to know what's suppose to happen and when, but can deal with it when it doesn't go the way it's supposed to.

It was a lot to absorb, but I got the gist of what God wants from me, now I just need Him to tell where I need to use it and how. As for where, I'm not sure about that either. It was an all day class and time got away from us and we didn't get to finish. But I walked away with an insight on what God has in store for me, and what I'm supposed to do for him. I hope that I can full fill those needs with His grace and His mercy. Amen.

conversations

Setting: At my sisters house.

Caiti: Aunt Jonnie, can you help me with my shoes?

Jonnie: Yea, what's the problem?

Caiti: I can't get my skin in there.
